the sanda hyogo pv power plant, invested and constructed by sep japan company, a wholly subsidiary of sep, held its completion ceremony on march 22, 2016, at which around 30 industry delegates from china and japan were present, according to xinhua news.
xia zhong, spic vice president, and sun shuqiang, head of the economic and commercial section of the consulate general of china in osaka, were invited to cut the ribbon for the completion ceremony. before the ceremony, xia zhong and his delegation, accompanied by sep japan general manager diao xu, visited the pv power plant site.
at the following celebration party, xia mentioned that spic has been dedicated to providing clean energy. the successful completion of sanda project was attributed to the strong support of its partners and the local government. with total installed solar power capacity of over 5,000mwp globally, spic has accumulated plenty of experience in pv power generation, and hopes to cooperate with japan in investment and construction of more power plants, and acquire more precious experience.
in his speech, sun shuqiang, with 30-year experience of sino-japan economic and trade work, noted that he had witnessed a remarkable change from kansai electric power importing chinese coal in 1960s and 1970s to china building pv power plant in japan now. as spic and sep are both reputable companies in the world, sun hoped that they would take this opportunity and continue to strengthen cooperation with japan, and the consulate general would provide strong support as usual.
located in sanda city, hyogo prefecture of japan, the 5 mwp pv power project, covering an area of 109,000 square meters, is the second power plant constructed and operated by sep japan in the country. the power plant was ratified by the japanese government on february 8 and then granted with the power generation and selling permit. once operational, it is estimated to generate 5,800 mwh of power per year.
the first pv power project invested by sep japan was nanko osaka pv power project, which produced 2,800 mwh of power for the grid in 2015.
